Summer is right around the corner and that means party season. With everyone looking for ways to make their business more successful, we felt it was fitting to spotlight Nan Mooney, an Advisor who had the highest ranking party sales in April. Here, Nan talks about her secret to successful parties (hint: the jewelry), shares some party tips and more.
lia sophia: What’s your secret to a successful party?
Nan: The truth is, I simply love this jewelry—have from the moment I saw my first piece. I am authentic in conveying that message and I do so consistently.
lia sophia: What’s your party strategy?
Nan: From the day I joined lia sophia, I started thinking a little “out of the box” if you will. I envisioned hosting parties for as little as 10 guests to parties for several hundred guests. I began reaching out to some of my oldest contacts who are quite successful in their fields. I knew they would be intrigued with my ideas for really big parties. One of these colleagues whom I have known for over 30 years listened to what I had to say and believed in what I presented. We worked together for over five months planning and preparing for what was probably one of the biggest parties ever held. We hosted close to 300 very happy guests.
lia sophia: What party tips can you share?
Nan: The most successful party begins by engaging your hostess and getting her excited to bring her friends together to share lia sophia. A calm, organized, prepared hostess makes for the most successful party. I always advise my hostess to “keep it simple”—a cute invite, a few snacks and some beverages and ready to start once the guests have arrived. The focus has to be on the jewelry. I once had a hostess who displayed all of her lia sophia pieces in her entry way and invited her guests to select a piece to enjoy wearing during the party. They just loved that. What a way to get your guests in the mood for some new bling of their own!
lia sophia: How did you join the company?
Nan: I began this journey in October 2012 after being the successful bidder on a $1000 shopping spree generously donated by my Unit Manager, Joni Pavich, at a local charity event. I was so impressed when I received my selections. I purchased more at a party, then I hosted a party and I knew I would be successful as an Advisor. I was introduced to lia sophia through Joni’s generosity. I believe in “paying it forward” and I give 10 percent of my income from lia sophia to the charity of each hostess’ choice. They really appreciate the opportunity to have a little fun and help others at the same time. Everybody wins!
